stuffed bunny

for kiyan's first birthday, i made him a modified version of the bunny rabbit from natalie chanin's alabama stitch book.

it's a hand-stitched and embroidered project in cotton jersey. i added pink felt for the ears and tail.













































hopefully, he'll like it!

i'll embark on some grown-up projects soon.

for the baby (not mine)

i decided to make a couple of things from one skein by leigh radford for kamran's due-in-august nephew. it's been a while since i made anything (school really has done a great job of usurping all of my free time), and these projects were pretty quick and fun.

here's the petal bib in a blue/green cotton:


















and the baby bolero in a turquoise organic cotton/wool blend with yellow organic wool trim. i opted to do a contrasting trim instead of keeping everything monochrome, as the book suggested.















the back has an eyelet pattern that's supposed to bring luck and protection:


















tonight, i'm thinking of starting on something from aranzi cute stuff, which really is too cute for words.
